Facilities Maintenance Specialist
Performs work of moderate difficulty in the provision of general maintenance and repair of buildings, furniture, equipment, and other agency property.
Training and Experience
Requires a minimum of 5 years related training and experience in building maintenance and repair work with strong emphasis on plumbing and electrical skills. High School Diploma/GED
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities needed in the following:
1.Materials, methods, practices, and equipment used in building maintenance and construction.
2.Basic principles and practices in plumbing, electrical, heating and cooling repair and maintenance services.
3.Physical ability to climb ladders, lift heavy objects, etc.
4.Skill in the use of hand tools, power tools, and general maintenance materials.
5.Ability to interpret and apply proper municipal building codes.
6.Knowledge of basic safety work practices and OSHA standards.
7.Ability to problem solve, identify solutions, make recommendations in support of goals and outcomes.
8.Physical ability to climb ladders, lift heavy objects, etc.
9.Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and to work with limited supervision in the field.
10.Ability to work as a team member and to adhere to agency policies and protocols.
11.Ability to understand and maintain confidentiality.
12.Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, blue prints a plus.
